Issue
Symptom:
Troubleshooting of fuel rail pressure sensor fault codes can lead to misdiagnosis of the fuel
rail pressure sensor or replacement of entire engine wiring harness.
Active or inactive counts of Fault Codes 755, 4727, and or 451, 452, 483, and or 484.
Root Cause:
Damaged wiring at or near the fuel rail pressure sensor engine wire harness connector.
See Figures 1 and 2 below.
Verification
If Troubleshooting directs replacement of fuel rail pressure sensor or engine wiring harness,
perform thorough inspection of wiring going to fuel rail pressure sensor connector. See Figure
1 below. See corresponding Service Manual. Reference Procedures 019-361 and 019-362 in
Section 19. Note that the wire can be broken but the insulation still intact.
Resolution
If damage to fuel rail pressure sensor wiring is found, repair with electrical repair connector or
electrical repair connector terminal. See corresponding Service Manual. Reference Procedure
019-199 in Section 19.
