Customers may come in complaining of a "chemical" type of odor coming from the vents when the air conditioning is on. It is most noticeable during a restart after a stop/start event. It may vary in severity based on the customer's sensitivity . Follow the system function tests and diagnostics inSI. If no issue is found, advise the customer that the following settings ma y help minimize their issue: Operate system in outside air (primarily) Set the temperature setting slightly higher (64 F +) Set the fan speed slightly higher (3 +) Running the air conditioning at max cold, with low fanspeed in air recirculation mode will cause the condition to be worse. At this time, there isn't a repair to completelyeliminate the condition.
