PURPOSE
The driver’s side central door lock switch rocker button is now available through spare parts. It is no longer
necessary to replace the entire switch assembly for a broken switch rocker button. This TSB provides the
part number and instructions for installation of a new driver’s central door lock switch rocker button.
NOTE: This procedure CANNOT be used on the passenger’s side central door lock switch.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Record the customer’s radio presets on the repair
order.

2. Remove the negative (—) battery cable.
3. Follow service manual instructions to remove the
power window/central door lock switch assembly
(driver’s side) from the inner door panel.
4. Use a small, flat blade screwdriver to pry the retaining
tabs outward and off the pivot bosses, and remove the
broken rocker button.

!! IMPORTANT !!
Take special care to prevent damage to the pivot
bosses.

5. Ensure the plunger inside the switch is undamaged
and free of foreign material and debris.

6. Look inside the switch assembly. Ensure the switch
slide is in the correct position. It should be aligned with
the outline around the slide switch assembly.
!! IMPORTANT !!
Incorrect switch slide position during assembly will
affect door lock switch function.

7. Ensure the “U”−shaped cut out on the bottom of the
new rocker button’s shaft engages the slider switch.

8. Press the new button rocker onto the switch assembly
and ensure both tabs completely engage the pivot
bosses.
9. Reconnect the door switch assembly to the door
harness and reconnect the negative (—) cable.

10. Test door lock, window, and window lock functions. If
the door locks do not function properly, remove the
rocker button and check the position of the switch
slide.
11. Disconnect the switch assembly and negative (—)
cable.

12. Reinstall the switch assembly to the inner door panel.

13. Reconnect the switch assembly and reinstall the inner
door panel.
14. Reconnect the negative (—) battery cable.
15. Recheck door lock, window, and window lock
functions.
16. Reset the clock and restore the customer’s audio
presets.
