SERVICE INFORMATION BULLETIN APPLICABILITY: SUBJECT: 2008-11MY Impreza (5-Door Model) 2008-14MY Impreza WRX 2015-19MY WRX 2017-18MY Forester 2013-19MY BRZ NUMBER: 07-167-20 DATE: 01/31/20 Stop Lamp Switch Rasping Sound when Applying Brake INTRODUCTION: This bulletin announces availability of a new stop lamp switch for the models listed above equipped with LED - type rear combination lamps. Additional grease and a change to the plating process used on some of the internal components were changes made to address concerns of a rasping-type sound heard in some cases when applying the brake pedal. PRODUCT CHANGE INFORMATION: The new switches were incorporated into production with these starting VINs: • WRX: L8802234 • BRZ: L8700222 (Production of the other applicable models was already completed before the production change.) Page 1 of 2 PART INFORMATION: Description Part Number Application SWITCH- STOP LAMP 83311FG001 83311CA001 Impreza and Forester WRX and BRZ The new switches can be identified by a brownish -colored harness connection socket as opposed to black. SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION: REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs. The service procedures for stop lamp switch replacement and adjustment remain unchanged. Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time and every time.
