Stop Lamp Switch Rasping Sound when Applying Brake
INTRODUCTION:
This bulletin announces availability of a new stop lamp switch for the models listed above equipped
with LED - type rear combination lamps. Additional grease and a change to the plating process used
on some of the internal components were changes made to address concerns of a rasping-type sound
heard in some cases when applying the brake pedal.
PRODUCT CHANGE INFORMATION:
The new switches were incorporated into production with these starting VINs:
• WRX: L8802234
•
BRZ: L8700222
(Production of the other applicable models was already completed before the production change.)

The new switches can be identified by a brownish -colored harness connection socket as opposed to
black.

refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed
