Technical Background
“Eco” is shown on the infotainment system display and the -J255- Climatronic Control Module display when the
customer presses the Start ON/OFF button. The customer may mention they have to manually change the
temperature setting, or press the sync button for the passenger display to no longer show “Eco.”
The air conditioning operation is controlled in relation to the occupied seats in order to keep the energy consumption
of the air conditioning system as efficient as possible. The seat-occupied recognitions system detects by means of the
seat belt status display, whether the seat belt on the front passenger seat is fastened or not. If the seat-occupied
recognition system detects that the seat is not occupied, the air conditioning system for the front passenger seat
switches to a lower energy mode. The seat heating on the front passenger seat is also switched OFF.
The seat-occupied recognition system switches itself OFF for the corresponding zone when:

A seat belt is fastened.

The temperature in the corresponding zone is set.
