AND The owner states that one or more tires has a continuous air leak or looses air pressure multiple times over a 30 day period (approximatively 1 psi every 3 days). NOTE: The TPMS warning lamp may be ON (not flashing) with one or more of the following DTCs stored: C1704, C1705, C1706, C1707, C1730, C1731, C1732, C1733 If the TPMS warning lamp is flashing for more than one (1) minute this bulletin does not apply. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnostic information. ACTION 1. Confirm that air is leaking between the tire pressure sensor’s valve stem and valve nut of the affected wheel/tire. 2. Replace the valve stem washer/seal and the valve nut and then torque to the new specification. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. Apply a mixture of soap and water to the area shown in Figure 1. 3. Visually inspect for bubbles in the area between the valve stem and the valve nut. 4. 5. Bubbles If bubbles were found in the area shown in Figure 1, proceed to step 4. If no bubbles were found, this bulletin does not apply. Further inspection may be necessary to locate a wheel/tire leak that is not covered by this bulletin. Remove the affected tire pressure sensor from the wheel. See the PARTS INFORAMTION on page 3. Valve stem washer/seal lip damage may occur if the valve stem seal is not centered in the wheel. Take care to center the valve stem when installing into the wheel (see Figure 2). 6. Valve nut Lip damage can occur here Valve stem washer/seal Replace the valve stem washer/seal.
