34 When Park has been selected, the display flickers between P and N 34 20 46 2058928/1 March 17, 2020. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment A6, A7 2019 - 2020 All 0CK/0CL/0CJ/0HL/0DK transmissions A4, A4 allroad 2017 - 2020 All 0CK/0CL/0CJ/0HL/0DK transmissions A5, A5 Cabriolet, A5 Sportback, Q5, and Q5 PHEV 2018 - 2020 All 0CK/0CL/0CJ/0HL/0DK transmissions Condition Customer states: When pressing the “P” (Park) button on the selector lever the “P” displays begin to flicker on the selector display and in the instrument cluster display. Intermittently “P” (Park) button is selected but the display indicates “N” (Neutral) and the warning message is displayed in the instrument cluster advising the driver to engage Park or the vehicle may roll. Intermittently the doors cannot be locked from outside the vehicle. Note: The transmission is engaged in “Park” during the concern, the displays are incorrect. Workshop findings: Concern can be duplicated. No DTCs are stored in the transmission control module, J217 (address word 0002) or the selector lever control system module, J587 (address word 0081). Production Solution Not applicable. Service If the above concern has been duplicated it can be repaired as followed with no parts replacement. Calibrate the gear sensor -G676 - as follows: Guided functions >> 7 speed dual clutch gearbox 0CK/L/J >> Self-diagnosis systems >> Gearbox electronics J217 >> Gearbox electronics functions >> Basic setting >> Calibration of gear sensor -G676-. No other basic settings are required. Test drive the vehicle and confirm proper operation. Warranty Claim Type: 110 up to 48 Months/50,000 Miles. G10 for CPO Covered Vehicles – Verify Owner.
