 DTC 03280 (Light switch position implausible signal).
 DTC 01800 (Light switch E1, no signal/communication).
 DTC B126AF0 (Light switch implausible switch position).
 DTC B126AF1 (Light switch in intermediate position).
Technical Background
If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position and
remains there (Figure 1), the light bulb warning light and the
error message appear after approximately ten seconds (Figure
2).
Figure 1. A headlight switch in an intermediate
position.
Figure 2. The warning light and error message
in the instrument cluster display.
Once displayed, the message turns off after approximately five seconds. The light bulb warning light turns off
only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 and DTC 01800 or
DTC B126AF0 and DTC B126AF1 are changed to sporadic.
After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTCs are automatically cleared.

It is possible a faulty switch can cause the same faults and
warning. For faults that are static or concerns able to be reproduced, use the MVBs within the 09 module to determine if
the light switch position can be properly detected.
If the MVB does not match the physical position of the headlight
switch, the switch is faulty.
In this example, the intermediate position of the rotary knob
(Figure 3) is correctly detected in the MVBs of the 09 module
(Figure 4). This is normal and does not indicate a faulty
component. In this case, explain the operation to the customer.
