Information:
The Surround View camera does not function sporadically or permanently and/or one of the Surround
View cameras is fogged up.
One or several of the following fault memory entries are stored:

B127C04 - Front camera defective
and/or
•
B127D04 - Reversing camera defective
and/or
•
B127E04 - side (left) camera defective
and/or
•
B127F04 - side (right) camera defective
and/or
•

Action:
B200FFA - Surround view camera – internal fault
For existing fault memory entries relating to one or more Surround View cameras, first check the
Surround View camera (s) for function as described.
Replacing the control unit for assistance systems in response to the fault memory entry "B200FFA
-Surround view camera – internal fault" in conjunction with the data error code 0x045018 will not correct
the problem.

A single fault memory entry for a single surround view camera is stored (no other fault memory
entries are stored)
Work Procedure: 1
Establish bus idle so that a reset of the control unit for assistance systems is carried out. Lock the
vehicle and wait 5 minutes for this purpose.

Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A, e.g. Battery charger 90A, to the
jump-start terminals in the engine compartment and switch it on, see  Workshop Manual '270689
Charging vehicle electrical system battery'.

Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle and switch it on. - Read out the fault memory.

If the fault memory entries are still present, check data lines and connection points between
the control unit for assistance systems and all Surround View cameras for loose/non-engaged
connectors, loose/pushed-back pins, corrosion and damage.
If no cause can be determined, the following measures are required for narrowing down the cause:

Cross install a single Surround View camera to locate a defective camera.
Swap the video cable on the control unit for assistance systems to locate a defective video
cable.

Information
During the checks, make sure that bus idle is maintained in order to perform a reset of the control unit for
assistance systems.
Replacing the control unit for assistance systems should not be carried out in the absence of a
clear diagnosis.

Information
Due to deviations in the diagnostic capability of the control unit for assistance systems, a single Surround
View camera (e.g. defective Surround View camera, short circuit in the video cable, water ingress, etc.)
can cause partial or even complete failure of the Surround View camera system.
Proceed as in section  Technical Information '270689 A single fault memory entry for a single Surround
View camera is stored (no other fault memory entries are stored),' to identify the cause of the problem.
Replacing the control unit for assistance systems should not be carried out in the absence of a
clear diagnosis.
A single surround view camera is fogged up and displays a milky or blurred image

Information
Due to deviations in the diagnostic capability of the control unit for assistance systems, a single Surround
View camera (e.g. defective Surround View camera, short circuit in the video cable, water ingress, etc.)
can cause partial or even complete failure of the Surround View camera system.
Replace the fogged-up surround view camera, make meaningful pictures and attach them to the warranty
claim.
If water ingress is identified during the test, the affected camera must be replaced. In addition, the
relevant video cable must be checked for water damage and replaced if necessary.
