Installation and Conversion Instructions Macan (95B) 26/14 ENU 6316 6 Stainless Steel Skid Plate (2JC) Information: Retrofitting Model Year: As of 2014 up to 2018 Vehicle Type: Macan Turbo Restriction: NOT in conjunction with SportDesign package (I-no. 2D1 / 2D2 / 2D5 / 2D6). Figure 1 Note: The stainless steel skid plate gives the Macan a customized look and makes it appear even more powerful and dynamic. The stainless steel skid plate is available separately under the optional equipment item "2JC" and in combination with the stainless steel rear panel under the optional equipment item "2JX", also for new vehicles ex-works. The combination with the stainless steel rear panel is recommended. Carefully pull the skid plate downwards at the same time ( Figure 4 -b-). Figure 4 When guiding out the (inner) tab, the (outer) tab moves inwards ( Figure 5 -arrow-). Figure 7 CAUTION Machining work (drilling, filing, grinding, etc.) • Risk of damage to electric wires • Risk of damage to components • Risk of damage to painted surfaces Exercise extreme care while working. Use a bit stop while drilling if necessary. Cover and, if necessary, mask surfaces that are at risk (painted surfaces, wood or carbon look parts and so on). Tequipment Installation and Conversion Instructions 2.1.1 Macan (95B) 26/14 ENU 6316 6 Remove edge on the front spoiler close to the six mounting points ( Figure 8 -inset A-) and the center ( Figure 8 -inset B-) using a cutter (Stanley knife). 1 – Edge Figure 8 2.1.2 Remove edge on the front spoiler at the outer left and right using a cutter (Stanley knife) ( Figure 9). 1 A B C – Edge – Front spoiler without edge turned 180° – Front spoiler without edge – Front spoiler with edge Figure 9 Tequipment Mar 23, 2020 Page 5 of 10 6 Macan (95B) 6316 ENU Installation and Conversion Instructions 26/14 2.2 Make a cut-out in the front spoiler ( Figure 10). 1 2 3 2.3 – Front spoiler – Embossing – Pneumatic saw 2.2.1 Mark the impression using a pen/marker ( Figure 10 -2-) if necessary. 2.2.2 Use an air saw to cut out the cut-out in the front spoiler ( Figure 10 -inset-). Pull protective film off the edge of the skid plate. Figure 10 2.4 Install front spoiler on the skid plate ( Figure 11). 1 2 – Front spoiler – Skid plate Figure 11 Mar 23, 2020 Page 6 of 10 Tequipment Installation and Conversion Instructions 2.5 Macan (95B) 26/14 ENU 6316 6 Secure stainless steel skid plate. 1 2 – Retaining lug – Flat-nosed pliers 2.5.1 Bend the rear holders by 180° ( Figure 12 -arrow a-). 2.5.2 Press retaining lugs down by approx. 30° ( Figure 12 -inset-). Counter using flat-nosed pliers or a similar tool. Figure 12 2.6 Install the front spoiler on the front apron. 1 2 – Front spoiler – Tab 2.6.1 Position the front spoiler in the gap on the front apron with the help of another mechanic ( Figure 13 -Arrows-). 2.6.2 Guide outer tabs into the front apron ( Figure 13). 2.6.3 Press front spoiler on evenly until the clips lock securely. Figure 13 Tequipment Mar 23, 2020 Page 7 of 10 6 Macan (95B) 6316 ENU Installation and Conversion Instructions 26/14 2.7 Installing rear panel 1 2 3 – Skid plate – Front apron – (Outer) tab 2.7.1 Position skid plate in the gap on the front apron ( Figure 14 -Arrows-). First guide the (outer) tab at the left and right ( Figure 14 -3-) into the front apron Figure 14 -arrow b-. 2.7.2 Then press the skid plate into the front apron from the outside in until the inner tabs engage. The (outer) tabs slide into their end position ( Figure 14 -a-). Figure 14 2.7.3 Install clamp ( Figure 15). 1 2.7.4 2.8 3 – Clip Install license plate cover. Workshop Manual '631519 Removing and installing front apron' NOTICE Voltage drop • Risk of irreparable damage to control unit • Risk of damage to control unit • Fault entries in the control unit • Coding in the control unit is aborted • Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key before disconnecting the control unit. Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least Nominal value 90 A to the vehicle battery. Information The 9900 - PIWIS Tester III instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases. The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different text or additions may appear on the 9900 - PIWIS Tester III. 3.2 Maintenance of vehicle data. 3.2.1 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 must be connected before switching on the ignition. 3.2.2 Select the required vehicle type. PIWIS Tester II Diagnostics starts. 3.2.3 Select Additional menu by pressing •F7“. Press •F11“ to confirm the question "Create vehicle analysis log (VAL)?". 3.2.4 Select the "Maintenance of vehicle data" function. Press •F12“ until "PR numbers" appears in the Value group column. 3.2.5 Select "Bumper" in the Family column. 3.2.6 Open drop-down menu and select "2JC – Comfort bumper (front panel)". Press •F12“ to continue. 3.2.7 A table containing the values to be changed appears. Save the values by pressing •F8“. Wait until "Generation of vehicle data is complete........" appears. 3.2.8 Press •F12“ to switch to Report management. Open the log by pressing •F10“ and check whether vehicle equipment "2JC – Comfort bumper (front trim)" is entered. Close the log. 3.3 3.2.9 Read out the fault memories of all systems, work through any existing faults and erase the fault memories.
