Overview
When converting the engine power specification from kilowatts to horsepower for the affected vehicles, the
conversion factor for the European unit (hp) was used instead of the unit that is normally used in the affected
market SAE net horsepower (SAE hp).
As a result, the engine power specification is on average approx. 1.4% higher than the actual engine power.
To prevent any customer dissatisfaction resulting from this, the DME control unit must be re-programmed
using an updated data record. This data record will increase the maximum engine power to the factory
specification by changing the boost pressure slightly.
This change does not affect consumption values, emissions or engine life.
Please arrange for this measure to be carried out the next time the affected vehicles come into the workshop.

PIWIS Tester 3 test software version
39.200.010 (or higher)
If other programming campaigns that affect the same control unit and involve the identical procedure are
open for a vehicle in addition to this campaign, the affected control unit must only be programmed once using
the current PIWIS Tester test software.
Please proceed as follows for the campaigns that have not been carried out:
• Mark the campaign as 'cannot be carried out' with the reason "Modification of the affected component"
in PQIS. The “Warranty relevance” flag must be activated in order to be able to set a warranty claim and
close the campaign.
• A warranty claim must be submitted for the campaign in which 0 TU is entered as the specified working
time and no material items are specified.
