Noise may be accompanied by excessive belt wear or alternator belt tensioner failure. It has been determined that these issues were caused by a flaw in the alternator belt tensioner itself. Solution An improved version of the alternator belt tensioner, Part Number 23669029, has been released to address this issue. The new tensioner design is for model year 2017 and newer trucks equipped with either an 11 liter or 13 liter engine. NOTE: Part Number 23669029 is ONLY for the Alternator Belt Tensioner, it is NOT compatible for the Fan Belt Tensioner. If a fan belt tensioner is needed, order the current part listed in Impact.
