Classification: Reference: EC20-005 Date: NTB20-020 March 26, 2020 2010-2012 ALTIMA; MIL ON WITH DTC P2423 APPLIED VEHICLES: APPLIED ENGINE: 2010-2012 Altima coupe (CL32) 2010-2012 Altima sedan (L32) QR25DE w/California emissions (non-hybrid) NOTE: The warranty period for the front exhaust tube with catalyst (20010-ZX10A) has been extended on the Applied Vehicles if the following criteria are met: The MIL is ON and DTC P2423 is stored in the ECM. The VIN is shown in SERVICE-COMM under “L32 NMOG EXT_DTC P2423 NTB20020.” The vehicle is within the L32 NMOG Warranty Extension period (refer to Table 1). Table 1 – L32 NMOG Warranty Extension period Model Warranty period 2010-2011 Altima Sedan/Coupe 16 years or 170,000 miles (whichever occurs first) 2012 Altima Sedan/Coupe 10 years or 120,000 miles (whichever occurs first) IF YOU CONFIRM The MIL is ON and DTC P2423 (HC ADSORPTION CATALYST FUNCTION) is stored in the ECM, AND The vehicle is within the L32 NMOG Warranty Extension period, AND L32 NMOG EXT_DTC P2423 NTB20-020 appears in SERVICE-COMM for the vehicle. ACTION Replace the front exhaust tube with catalyst. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/2 IMPORTANT: If the vehicle has stored DTC P2423, ensure campaign bulletin NTB20-022 has been applied. If the campaign has been applied and the vehicle has stored DTC P2423 but does not qualify for the L32 NMOG Warranty Extension, refer to the ESM for further diagnostic information. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Replace the front exhaust tube with catalyst. Refer to the ESM for front exhaust tube replacement: ENGINE > EXHAUST SYSTEM (QR25DE) > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION. All parts replaced under the L32 NMOG Warranty Extension may be requested back for inspection. If no defects are found with the returned part(s), the dealer may be charged back for the entire warranty claim. Verify that the vehicle being serviced has the L32 NMOG Warranty Extension displayed in SERVICE-COMM prior to servicing the vehicle. Submit a Primary Part (PP) type line claim using the following claims coding: DESCRIPTION PFP OP CODE SYM DIA FRT Replace front exhaust tube (1) FX66AA ZE 32 0.5 (1) Reference the electronic parts catalog and use the Tube-Exh Fr W/Cat 20010-***** as the Primary Failed Part (PFP).
