Complaint:
Headlamp sometimes switches on and off again by itself when the vehicle is parked.
Warning message "ILS inoperative" is active or has been displayed in the instrument cluster.
Note: This complaint often occurs immediately after an engine start and when it is dark.
Cause:
The complaints listed may be caused by a timing problem or by the self-test monitoring function in the headlamp control unit (PXL-ECU) being too sensitive.
Remedy:
Replacing the control units or lamp units does not remedy the situation.
Update the software of the two PXL213 control units E1n11 and E2n11 to software release SW 19/47 000 or higher.
The software is available with AddOn15143 for Xentry DVD 12/19.
In addition:
- Check the on-board electrical system and charge the battery if necessary
