SERVICE INFORMATION
The remote engine start (RES) may stop responding and DTC P161F will store in the ECM
if RES is performed more than once in quick succession.
EXAMPLE:
1. The RES is activated,
2. The ignition is turned OFF; either by RES timer or directly by the start button or
key,
3. Within 10 seconds of performing steps 1 and 2, the ignition is turned ON with the
RES, start button or key.

When using the RES feature, at least 10 seconds, or more, must elapse between
ignition cycles.

If DTC P161F is stored, erase the DTC and Do Not replace the ECM.
NOTE: If a customer states the RES stopped responding on a third consecutive activation
attempt, please inform them the vehicle allows the RES to be performed only twice
consecutively, and must be driven in excess of 5 mph before a third attempt can be
performed.
