Introduction
Some 2010 – 2020 model year GX 460 (KDSS-equipped) vehicles may exhibit a condition where
the vehicle leans more than 20 mm (0.79 in.) from left to right when viewed from the rear of the
vehicle. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
 This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months
or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
 Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in
this bulletin.

Repair Procedure
NOTE
BEFORE beginning this Repair Procedure, confirm the following.
 The vehicle’s suspension components have NOT been modified.
 The vehicle is in the Original Equipment (OE) configuration.
1. Confirm the condition exists.
NOTE





Perform the inspection on a level surface.
Confirm the wheels are on the ground and facing straight ahead.
Perform the inspection with the vehicle load completely on the suspension.
Perform this step with a full fuel tank.
Remove ANY parts installed in the vehicle that place ANY unbalanced load on the left or right
side of the vehicle.
A. View the vehicle from the rear.
Is the vehicle leaning to the right?

YES — Continue to substep B.

NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.
B. Measure the vehicle height difference from left to right.
Is the difference from left to right more than 20 mm (0.79 in.)?

YES — Continue to step 2.

NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.

2. Replace the front LH coil spring assembly.
A. Remove the front LH coil spring assembly.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

2010 / 2011 / 2012 / 2013 / 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 / 2019 / 2020 GX 460:
Suspension – Front Suspension – “Front Suspension: Front Shock
Absorber: Removal”
B. Install the NEW front LH coil spring assembly.
Refer to TIS, applicable model and model year Repair Manual:

2010 / 2011 / 2012 / 2013 / 2014 / 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 / 2019 / 2020 GX 460:
Suspension – Front Suspension – “Front Suspension: Front Shock
Absorber: Installation”
3. Confirm the levelness of the vehicle from left to right is less than 20 mm (0.79 in.).
