Symptom/Vehicle Issue: Tick Noise From A-pillar Front Power Top Side Rail
Discussion: If a tick or click noise is heard from the Sky One power roof system
above the front row seat occupants heads see the below procedure to add anti-squeak
tape.
Parts Required: MOPAR Anti-Squeak tape 05019054AA
1. Power the roof full open.
2. Remove the front four bolts on each side of the assembly (to loosen front of rail to body
to gain access to Torx head fasteners between side rail and track)
a) Remove the front “blue” screws (#4 below) that secure the front of the power top
assembly.
b) Remove the front “gold” screws (#2 below) at the front door openings.
c) Remove front two “red” screws in oval (#3 below)

NOTE:
The screws that anchor the power top assembly to the frame of the vehicle
are different lengths. Damage can occur if a long screw is placed in a short
hole. Refer to the illustration for proper screw locations.
3. Remove the front 2 Torx screws (1) between the track (3) and the SMC (composite sheet
molded compound) side rail (2), repeat on the other side.

3. Obtain anti-squeak tape, service number 05019054AA, and cut out 9 through 12.

4. Pry the black aluminum track up and position one piece of tape at the front and at the
back of the of the T-nut hole, as shown in the photos below. Tip: apply tape to a blade
and carefully slide into opening.

5. Reinstall the 2 T-nut screws per side, torque to 14 Nm.

6. Attach the front four bolts on each side of the assembly, torque all to 6 Nm.
a. Attach the front screw (#2 below) in the front door openings.
b. Attach the rear screw in the front door opening and the front screw in the rear
door opening, two screws (#3 below).
c. Attach the screws (#4 below) that secure the front of the power top assembly.
Reinstall the front 4 screws

7. Cycle the roof closed.
