Condition
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
• Start/Stop inoperative
• MIL illuminated
Some technicians may find DTC P2797 (Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump
Performance) set in the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
Cause
This condition may be caused by an internal failure in the auxiliary fluid pump.
Note: Inspect the auxiliary pump harness for a backed out/loose fitting terminal on both
ends of the harness and repair/replace as necessary.
Replace the auxiliary transmission pump. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump
Removal and Installation in SI.
Important: To remove the pump assembly, grasp the turbine shaft and remove the
forward clutch and pump assembly as one piece. Keep the clutch assembly inserted in
the pump. This will protect the shaft seals and they will not need to be replaced.
Correction
⇒ Refer to Transmission Fluid Pump Disassemble for instructions on replacing
the auxiliary pump.
