A faulty tank leakage diagnosis module (DMTL) can trigger the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) for numerous 		
reasons, for example the DME fault “P245000 (002EB0) – Tank leakage diagnostic module, change-over valve –
stuck open.” In such instances, where the repair necessitates replacement of the DMTL, this ATI kindly requests 		
replacement of the attached filter element shown below.
Technical Background
In addition to the analysis of faulty DMTL units, an associated analysis of the attached filter element is also
necessary.

In the same PQIS entry and warranty request to replace the DMTL to properly repair the vehicle, please replace the
filter element (Part 5) shown below. (Only 1 “repair kit for the evaporative emission canister” 9P1 898 209 			
is necessary.)
