CONDITION
Some 2016-2019 model year Tundra vehicles may experience vibration and noise with light brake
application. Rear axle runout may not meet the specification of 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)
RECOMMENDATIONS
Tundra axle runout is currently under investigation. Please perform these steps:
1. Confirm there is vibration and/or noise from the rear brakes during light brake application at low
(parking lot) speeds.
2. Measure axle flange runout.
3. If out of specification (0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)), please create a TAS case and contact TAS for
instruction prior to diagnosing or repairing of the vehicle. If it is a weekend or holiday, continue
with diagnosis and repair. Please save all parts and/or details and contact TAS on the next
available work day. If within specification, please continue to diagnose using the applicable
Repair Manual.
