Tech Tip T-TT-0610-20 May 14, 2020 Subject Market Vibration and noise with light brake application - rear axle runout USA Service Category Section Drivetrain Axle/Differential Applicability 2016-2019 Tundra APPLICABLE VEHICLES 2016-2019 Tundra CONDITION Some 2016-2019 model year Tundra vehicles may experience vibration and noise with light brake application. Rear axle runout may not meet the specification of 0.05 mm (0.00197 in.) RECOMMENDATIONS Tundra axle runout is currently under investigation. Please perform these steps: 1. Confirm there is vibration and/or noise from the rear brakes during light brake application at low (parking lot) speeds. 2. Measure axle flange runout. 3. If out of specification (0.05 mm (0.00197 in.)), please create a TAS case and contact TAS for instruction prior to diagnosing or repairing of the vehicle. If it is a weekend or holiday, continue with diagnosis and repair. Please save all parts and/or details and contact TAS on the next available work day. If within specification, please continue to diagnose using the applicable Repair Manual.
