Bulletin #: 2009 Advanced Technical Information Part ID: 2473 2 Downstream Oxygen Sensor Error(s) – “Slow Response – Rich to Lean” Vehicles Affected Models Model Year Model Type VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment Cayenne 2020 9YABB1, 9YBBB1 N/A N/A Revision History Revision Release Date Changes 0 June 4, 2020 Original document Condition Downstream oxygen sensor errors P013B00 (005C35, Bank 1) and P013D00 (005C3B, Bank 2) - ‘Slow Response – Rich to Lean’ of the 2.9 liter bi-turbo V6 engine for the Cayenne S and Cayenne S Coupé occurring under the following operating conditions: • • • • Low engine speed (1200 – 1500 rpm) Calculated engine load at approximately one-third (25 – 35%) Engine temperature approaching or at operating temperature (50 – 100°C) Low vehicle mileage (0 – 500 miles) Technical Background An increased diagnostic sensitivity occurring under specific engine operating conditions, as described above, can cause the aforementioned faults to set the engine’s malfunction indicator lamp (MIL). In cases seen thus far exhibiting these faults under the described operating conditions, changing the engine oil and filter is proving to cease the faults’ occurrences. This matter is under investigation. Perform an oil and oil filter change; and drive the vehicle again to verify the repair. Warranty As always, please document the case completely in PQIS.
