Set the Master Control Switch in STOP position (see figure 1). Before starting any work on the vehicle, make sure that the vehicle is completely and securely stationary. Place the battery disconnect switch in OFF position at the rear of the vehicle. Figure 1 – Master Control Switch in STOP Position WARNING : Follow your internal safety procedures. PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 4 Instructions • The bus will need to be reprogramed using the supplied program. See slide 2. • Tools needed 1) Wire cutter 2) Pin Crimper 3) Laptop & Connection cable for programming VBEA PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 5 Instructions 1) Locate the rear IB panel as shown: PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 6 Instructions Area being worked on highlighted below in red: PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 7 Instructions 2) Trip breaker G to the OFF position. PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 8 Instructions 3) Remove the Haldex drain valve relay from the location shown below: +IB-RL99CH1 PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 9 Instructions 4) Cut Wire to pin 86 (highlighted RED) & Cut Wire to pin 87 (highlighted WHITE) Using supplied parts re-pin Red wire (99-105) with: 12124580 Female Terminal 12015791 Female Connector 15324980 Seal Using Supplies parts re-pin White wire (99-103) with: 12089040 Male Terminal 12010996 Male Connector 15324985 Seal See next page for detailed pictures PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 10 Instructions 5) Connect and secure connectors using tie-wraps. PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 11 Instructions 6) Open rear run box, locate two splice connectors Inspect diodes (2 from each connector) replace if found to be failed. See following slide for testing procedure. PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 12 Instructions 7) Test all 4 diodes: +EB-D70LA, +EB-D70LB, +EB-D70PA and +EB-D70PB a) Remove the diode from the connector. Look at the printed diode symbol on the top of the diode to determine the anode and cathode sides for reference. b) Select a multimeter with a « diode check” function. c) Touch the red (positive) lead to the diode anode side and black (negative) to the cathode side. A result between 0.5 to 0.8 volts means the diode is working (forward bias test). d) Reverse the polarities of the multimeter leads on the diode (reverse bias test), the multimeter reading should read OL (open loop). e) Replace the diode (PN: 12135037) if steps c or d fails using level 2 BOM. PD, CONFIDENTIAL Date created: 21/02/2020 Latest update: 13 Instructions 8) Test the ADV coil resistances: see following slide for schematic. With the diodes removed it is possible to test each valve coil resistance using: Valve 1: Diode D70LA pin B, Wire 72-032 and ground. Valve 2: Diode D70LB pin D, Wire 70-035 and ground. Valve 3: Diode D70PA pin B, Wire 70-036 and ground. Valve 4: Diode D70PB pin D, Wire 70-039 and ground. Coil nominal resistance and tolerance: 42 ± 2 Ohms If the valve falls out of this specification, the coil will have to be replaced. Please see Haldex repair instruction letter L31168. Once all valves pass the resistance test, 9) Trip breaker G to ON position. 10) Test the drain valves functionality using the test switches on the rear engine box. 11) Bus can be returned to service.
