Service Bulletin Bulletin No.: 20-NA-118 Date: June, 2020 TECHNICAL Subject: Possible OnStar Notification, Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated, ABS/TCS Lamp On - DTC C0010.5A Set Brand: Model: Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GMC Model Year: VIN: Engine: Transmission: All All All from to from to Envision 2018 2020 All SRX 2010 2016 All All All All Colorado 2018 2020 All All All All Equinox 2015 2020 All All All All Canyon 2018 2020 All All All All Terrain 2015 2020 All All All All Involved Region or Country North America, Europe, Russia, Middle East, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Argentina (Mercosur), Brazil (Mercosur), Chile (West), Colombia (West), Ecuador (West), Paraguay (West), Peru (West), Uruguay (West), Japan, Cadillac Korea (South Korea), GM Korea Company, China - SGM, Taiwan , Thailand (ASEAN), Egypt, Other Africa Condition Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions: • MIL illuminated • ABS/TCS lamp on • Possible OnStar notification Some technicians may find DTC C0010.5A stored in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). Cause The diagnostic setting a false C0010.5A uses transmission estimated gear. The status of this signal changes with the shift selector, not the transmission. This makes it possible to shift to Reverse while coasting forward. It is a very rare or unusual set of conditions which will falsely set this code. The driver must be coasting in one direction (above 10 KPH), place the shift selection in the opposite direction for more than 1 second without hitting the accelerator pedal in order to set this code. Correction If the code C0010.5A is the only code stored, clear the code and road test. This issue is caused by the driver’s habits that can falsely trip this code. Explain to the driver how they did this. DO NOT re-flash the EBCM software. This will not correct the issue. Informing the driver not to shift to the opposite direction, without stopping, will help avoid the issue. Parts Information No parts are required for this repair. Copyright 2020 General Motors LLC.
