AfterSales Diagnostic sheet MAS002247 (BOL 20-06) From: Aftersales - TSO To: Maserati Network Auburn Hills, MI | August 11, 2020 Spontaneous wiper activation NOTE: The below in depth diagnostic procedures are to be used along with the procedures listed in the Workshop Manuals if a more comprehensive diagnosis is required. Important: A BOL must be opened prior to removal of any parts (components). Please remember to attach pictures/ videos showing in detail the issue. Issue: Spontaneous wiper activation Models:: M157/M156/M161 Issue description: Wiper activated spontaneously and ESC light ON Conditions: ‐ ‐ ‐ KIN in RUN position While cranking/starting While driving DTC: ‐ No DTCs in SCCM - Lost Communication with SCCM unit set in other ECU’s (e.g. C21200, C12100) Troubleshooting: Provide responses to following questions: 1) Is it possible to reproduce the Customer's complaint (CC)? 2) When did the CC occur?: 2.1) key ON-engine OFF? 2.2) during engine cranking? 2.3) while driving? 3) With the engine running, is it possible to delete the DTC? If yes, does the functionality of the system return to normal? Suggested checks: 1) Perform battery Pico test and provide the results 2) By following electrical schematic FE0440 in the Workshop Manual: 2.1) Measure the voltage on pins 3-4 of the SCCM connector (if possible back probe the connector without disconnecting it). NOTE: The SCCM connector -> I001 for M156, M157 and K003 for M161 2.2) Check that the SCCM is properly connected to front C-can star connector; 3) Measure the resistance on pin 1-2 of SCCM, with the battery disconnected 4) If the complaint can be reproduced: 4.1) Disconnect SCCM connector; 4.2) Re-connect SCCM connector; 4.3) Verify if the complaint appears again (please perform a video while doing this operation by turning the steering wheel to the left and right end stroke). Considerations: If at the end of point 4.3 the issue still occurs, the SCCM unit has to be replaced. Please attach all of the above test results to the BOL as a “Help Request” in order to get the replacement authorization.
