Symptom/Vehicle Issue: MySky Rough Operation Or Sticks Open
Discussion: If inspection of the top rails reveals a buildup of debris such as dirt, tree
leaf/needles the below steps will clean and lube the roof system rails.

Cleaning the roof system requires the roof closed. Use a pressure washer with
no more than 100bar (1450 psi) max. Hot water no more than 60ºC (140ºF) max.
Perform right and left rear guide channel cleaning as shown above (fig 1). Move the
pressure washer nozzle forward and backward to wash out debris.

To dry the guide channels use an air nozzle and compressed air regulated no
more than 6 bar (88 psi). Work forward and backwards to blow out water (fig 2). If more
debris is coming out, perform cleaning step again until the debris is removed.

Apply masking tape or painters tape to each side of the left and right guide rail
area (fig 3). Tape will protect the roof from grease and simplify clean up.

Using a small applicator brush, apply Molykote EM50 lithium grease (or
equivalent) to both rails as shown in figure 4. Use enough grease to apply a thin wipeon layer on the channel. Avoid caking the grease in the channel.
