OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the diesel particulate sensor when one or more of the following
Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are active in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: EMEA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to (BV) vehicles built on or before December 17, 2019 (MDH
1217XX) equipped with 1.6L I4 B ECO Turbo Diesel Engine W/ESS (Sales Codes EJJ)
or 2.0L I4 Turbo Diesel Engine W/ ESS (Sales Codes EBS).
NOTE: This bulletin applies to (MP) vehicles built on or before January 22, 2020 (MDH
0122XX) equipped with 1.6L I4 B ECO Turbo Diesel Engine W/ESS (Sales Codes EJJ)
or 2.0L I4 Turbo Diesel Engine W/ ESS (Sales Codes EBS).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further
investigation the technician may find one or more of the following DTCs.
• P24D1-00 - Particulate Matter Sensor Regeneration Incomplete.
• P24AE-00 - Particulate Matter Sensor Circuit.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs or
symptom conditions, other than the ones listed above are present, record the issues on the repair
order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above or if the technician finds the DTC,
perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Perform and save a scan report.
2. Replace the diesel particulate matter sensor. Refer to the detailed service procedures available
in DealerCONNECT> Service Library under: Service Info> Exhaust System / Sensor, Particulate
Matter / Removal and Installation.
3. Clear any DTCs, using wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs and allow them
to be cleared.
4. If one or more of these DTCs set again. Normal DTC diagnostic need to be performed.

Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
