Bulletin No.: Service Bulletin Date: 20-NA-153 August, 2020 TECHNICAL Subject: Reduction in Power, Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Illuminated - DTC P17A2 Set Brand: Model: Cadillac ATS Chevrolet Camaro Model Year: from 2016 VIN: to 2019 2020 from to — — Engine: Transmission: — 6 Speed Manual (M13) Involved Region or Country North America Condition Some customers may comment that the MIL is illuminated. Some technicians may find DTC P17A2 (Transmission Clutch Slip Detected) set in the Engine Control Module (ECM). Cause In some instances, the output speed sensor reluctor wheel maybe slipping on the shaft due to low output shaft nut torque. Correction Remove the output vehicle speed sensor. Refer to Vehicle Speed Sensor Replacement in SI. Utilizing a small tool, lightly pry on the speed sensor reluctor wheel: • If the reluctor wheel moves, refer to the Service Procedure below. • If the reluctor wheel does not move, refer to SI for further diagnostics. 2. Remove the two-piece propeller shaft. Refer to Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement in SI. • Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Coupe MM6, M13) • Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement (Convertible MM6, M13) Service Procedure 1. Bulletin No.: 20-NA-153 August, 2020 Page 3 5621281 4. While holding the J-45012 Holding Fixture (1), remove the output shaft flange nut (3) using an appropriate tool. 5. Remove the output shaft flange thrust washer (2). Page 4 August, 2020 Bulletin No.: 20-NA-153 5621281 6. Install the new output shaft flange thrust washer (2). 7. While holding the J-45012 Holding Fixture (1) and using an appropriate tool, install the new nut and tighten the output shaft flange nut (3) to 145 Y (107 lb ft).
