SUBJECT:
2.0L Or 2.4L Long Block Replacement
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the long block due to incorrect machining operation on the
cylinder head.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries:
NAFTA, APAC and EMEA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to the following vehicles:
• MK vehicles equipped with a 2.0L I4 DOHC 16V Dual VVT Engine (Sales
Code ECN) or a 2.4L I4 DOHC 16V Dual VVT Engine (Sales Code ED3)
built on or after May 06, 2015 (MDH 0506XX) and on or before June 18,
2015 (MDH 0618XX).
• JC vehicles equipped with a 2.4L I4 DOHC 16V Dual VVT Engine (Sales
Code ED3) built on or after May 05, 2015 (MDH 0505XX) and on or
before June 24, 2015 (MDH 0624XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may describe the engine is consuming oil.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other
customers that describe the symptom/condition listed above, perform normal diagnostics.

engine assembly and refer to the detailed service procedures available in

World/Removal/Installation (Sales Code ECN) or Service Info> 09 - Engine, 2.4L
World/Removal/Installation (Sales Code ED3).
