Condition
Customer states:
 The customer is concerned about the sporadic failure of the intersection/lane changing assist.
One or more of the following messages are shown in the instrument cluster:
 “Intersection assist Malfunction! Please contact service.”
 “Lane change and exit warning: Malfunction! Please contact service.”
 “Rear intersection assistant: Malfunction! Please contact service.”
 “Audi pre sense: Malfunction! Please contact service.”
Workshop findings:
The following DTC may be stored one, or both lane change assistance control modules, J769 and J770 (address
word 003C and/or 00CF), OR in one, or both front corner radar control modules, J1088 and J1089 (address word
00DB and/or 00DC):
One or both lane change assistance control modules:
 DTC B200FF9 (Internal malfunction) with symptom codes 1311057, 1311058, 1311059 or 1311060.
One or both front corner radar control modules:
 DTC B200FF9 (Internal malfunction) with symptom code 1311089.

Technical Background
The diagnostics routines are too sensitive, causing the DTC to be entered erroneously.
Production Solution
Improved software 0487 is planned for production and service.
Service
1.
Explain to the customer that a solution is forthcoming for the 2nd quarter of 2021 and that no repairs are
necessary at this point. Do not replace any components for this condition since this will not resolve the
customer’s concern.

Create a PSS record in the PSS application through the Pending Service Solutions (PSS) link in
AccessAudi (under Related Links >> Service), or through the Technical Assistance page in Elsa.
