Once this validity period has elapsed, the approval in question is revoked unless an extension is requested by the relevant manufacturer. This means that it is not necessary to flush the engine when the oil is changed if another type of oil is used. However, since every brand of oil has a specially adapted unique composition, the same brand and type of oil should be used for topping up between oil change intervals if possible. Important Notice: Technical Bulletins issued by Porsche Cars North America, Inc. are intended only for use by professional automotive technicians who have attended Porsche service training courses.
