Warranty Extension: 2016 Pilot V6 Fuel Injector
Today, November 24, 2020, American Honda is announcing a warranty extension for certain 2016 Pilot
vehicles. This warranty extension covers fuel injectors to address concerns of internal wear or clogging
inside one or more injectors. American Honda is extending the warranty coverage of the fuel injectors to
10 years from the original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first.
BACKGROUND
The fuel injectors may not have been manufactured to proper specifica ons. As a result, debris from the
high pressure pump or the fuel injector machining process may cause internal wear or clogging inside
one or more injectors. Also, the PCM so ware may misinterpret sensor inputs as deteriorated cataly c
converter.
REPAIR
Replacement of the fuel injectors and/or a so ware update.
PARTS
Parts are available through the controlled parts ordering system.
TOOLS
There are no special tools needed for this campaign.
SERVICE BULLETIN
Service bulle n 20-100, Warranty Extension: MIL Comes on with DTC P0420 or P0430, with P0300-P0306, P219A,
or P219B (with So ware Update) has been posted to the Service Informa on System (SIS) as of November
24, 2020. It includes parts, repair, and warranty informa on related to this campaign.
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
American Honda expects to begin customer no fica on in early March 2021.
