The new 571-9902 Cylinder Head Gasket kit has funnel seals that divert oil from the cylinder head back into the
oil drain passage in the block. This oil diversion prevents oil from collecting between the cylinder block and the
spacer plate gasket (shim gasket).
The following changes are now available for the products within the listed serial numbers.

(1b) 542-1218 Seal (Not serviceable)
Note: Do not use Loctite® #1522029 Aviation Gasket Sealant on the spacer plate gasket (shim gasket).
Install the spacer plate gasket dry.
1. Install the spacer plate gasket (shim gasket), and spacer plate per normal instructions. Refer to the
appropriate Disassembly and Assembly manual for the engine.
2. Install Cylinder Head Gasket (1a) onto the spacer plate.
Note: Ensure that the five seals sit on the spacer plate and not on the head gasket graphite.
3. Install five Seals (1b) into the cylinder block with the funnel side towards the block.
