SERVICE BULLETIN APPLICABILITY: 2018-19MY WRX and WRX STI NUMBER: 05-81-20 SUBJECT: Rear BILSTEIN® Shock Absorbers- Design Changes DATE: 11/10/20 INTRODUCTION: This bulletin announces design changes made to the BILSTEIN rear shock absorbers used on the models listed above. The changes listed below were made to enhance the durability of the seals and to prevent oil loss: • • guide bushing changed from a dry type to a wet type configuration of the guide bushing, oil seal and dust seal were changed. PART INFORMATION: REMINDER: Always order the most up-to-date replacement parts based on the specific VIN being repaired. The part number for the new SHOCK ABSORBER - REAR is 20365VA061. The service procedures for rear shock absorber replacement remain unchanged. Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair. Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time, every time. This includes but is not limited to important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools, required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair.
