Subject: Rivet Guns used for Campaign 268 – Dome Reinforcement Plate
Installation and Rivet Guns for the complete Dome Installation Kit p/n: 673006036
The rivet guns which are listed in Service Campaign Bulletin 268 are to be used ONLY
for the installation of the reinforcement plates. If you are installing a complete dome
replacement kit P/N: 673006036, a higher capacity rivet gun will be required. Below are
the specifications required for completing the Reinforcement Plate Campaign 268 (A,
below) and the complete Dome replacement kit (B, below)
A) Minimum Specifications for the Blind Riveting Gun to be used for Service
Campaign 268 – Reinforcement Plates Installation
• Able to handle break stem rivets ¼ x 6.4 mm
• Able to handle steel structural break stem rivet
• Capable of producing a minimum force of 16,000 N (3,600 Pounds)
• The tool should have a head length of less than 200 mm with the stem catcher
removed.

B) Minimum Specifications for the Blind Riveting Gun used for the COMPLETE
DOME INSTALLATION (when using kit p/n: 673006036)
• Able to handle break stem rivets ¼ x 6.4 mm.
• Able to handle steel structural break stem rivet
• Capable of producing a minimum force of 17,000 N (3,822 Pounds)
• The tool should have a head length of less than 225 mm with the stem catcher
removed.

NOTES: There are a variety of blind rivet tools available.
It is critical you use the correct tool with the proper force and ability to reach into small
areas to complete the repair. The brand of tool isn’t as important.

Dome Reinforcement Plates Installation.
