WLF6 - Replacing Turbocharger (Workshop Campaign)
Vehicle Type:
911 Carrera S (992) / 911 Carrera 4S (992)
Model Year:
2020
Subject:
Turbocharger
Information:
On the affected vehicles, some exhaust turbocharger were installed on which the lever for the
wastegate valve was not manufactured in accordance with specifications.
As a result, the lever can break over the service life of the vehicle and the wastegate valve can then no
longer be actuated to control the boost pressure.
To prevent consequential damage to the engine or turbochargers, limp-home mode is activated in this
case and a corresponding warning message is displayed in the instrument cluster.
Information
On the affected vehicles, either the turbocharger for cylinders 1–3, the turbocharger for cylinders 4–6,
or both turbochargers must be replaced. The action to be carried out on the relevant vehicle depends on
the campaign scope assigned to it. Before carrying out the campaign, check which campaign scope is
assigned to the relevant vehicle and then carry out the appropriate action.
Remedial
Action:
Vehicles with assigned Scope 1:
•
Replacing turbocharger for cylinders 1–3
Vehicles with assigned Scope 2:
•
Replacing turbocharger for cylinders 4–6
Vehicles with assigned Scope 3:
•
