Overview
Please note that the warranty for the reversing light function for the 911 Carrera (991) from model
years 2012 - 2015 has been extended worldwide.
Background
On a small number of 2012-2015 991 vehicles equipped with 7-speed manual transmission (I-no.
487), there is a possibility that the transmission side actuation for the reversing light switch on may
have been manufactured below Porsche durability speci cations. In rare instances, this could result in
inoperative reversing lights.
Porsche is therefore extending the warranty for the reversing light function if the problem described
here occurs because the 7-speed manual transmission must be replaced in order to correct it.

Warranty period
The warranty on the reversing light function in relation to the issue described here lasts for 15 years
from the new vehicle delivery date with unlimited mileage. You will nd the exact warranty period of a
vehicle in the vehicle information in the PCSS – Porsche Central Service System.

The extended warranty is displayed as an additional new vehicle warranty scope and contains the
added information "Ext. Warranty 991 Reversing light" in the "Warranty coverage" column.
Validity and transferability
The warranty applies worldwide and is always transferred automatically to the next owner.
All other terms and conditions speci ed in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet remain unchanged.
Customer communication
Porsche is notifying potentially a ected customers that it is extending the warranty for the reversing
light function.
Warranty coverage and invoicing
You will nd a detailed description of the warranty coverage of this extended warranty and the invoicing
procedure for a warranty claim in Technical Information No. 228/20, 0X00 "Warranty information:
Extended warranty for reversing light function in relation to the actuator for the reversing light switch
on transmission side" in PCSS.
Process description - invoicing process
A customer has paid in the past for this repair, which would now be covered by the warranty extension
and the customer requests reimbursement of the invoice:

With:
Copy of the customer invoice/repair order for this exact repair and concern with VIN
Proof of payment for the previous repair that would have been covered by this extension
Vehicle ownership documentation (insurance card with same name for period of repair)
Email subject line: customer reimbursement for 991 Reversing Light Warranty Extension repair
The request for reimbursement will be reviewed and responded to accordingly.
Voluntary contributions to repair costs by dealers or PCNA cannot be reimbursed retroactively. Invoices
that do not meet the requirements described above cannot be reimbursed.
