Service Technical Information 03/21 ENU 2473 2 Complaint - Check Engine Error Message Together With Fault Memory Entry "Oxygen Sensor Downstream of Catalytic Converter - Signal Too Slow from Lean to Rich" (03/21) Vehicle Type: Cayenne S (9YA/9YB) Model Year: As of 2020 up to 2021 Emissions Concept: LEV3/TIER3 (I-no. 7CE) Concerns: Oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter Information: Because the oxygen sensor diagnosis is too sensitive, the engine electronics (DME) control unit activates the Check Engine warning light in the instrument cluster. In the event of a fault, the following fault memory entries are stored: • • P013B00 - Oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter, bank 1 - signal too slow from lean to rich (005C35) P013D00 - Oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter, bank 2 - signal too slow from lean to rich (005C3B) The following conditions can cause the fault to occur: • • • • Low engine speed (1,200 - 1,500 rpm) Calculated engine load at 25 - 35% Engine is at operating temperature/is close to operating temperature (50 - 100 °C) Low vehicle mileage (0 - 1000 km/621 mls) Action required: If no other fault memory entries are stored in the engine electronics (DME) control unit, proceed as follows: • • Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL). Delete fault memory entries End of remedial action. No further action is possible at this point in time. Replacing the catalytic converter or oxygen sensor will not work. Information The topic is currently the subject of further analysis. As soon as a permanent remedial action is available, this Technical Information will be updated accordingly.
