If it is omitted to perform the work required during a workshop visit, the customer should be notified immediately. You should also pass on this information to your new and used car sales departments so that vehicles affected are checked and if necessary repaired immediately. In the event the campaign has not been applied, please carry out the required work in accordance with these instructions. Control All VIN applicable vehicles as per Elsa Pro should have the required work conducted Genuine parts Not applicable Work VERY IMPORTANT: This vehicle uses a High voltage system and MUST only be worked on by suitably qualified personnel. VERY IMPORTANT: Please ensure all guidelines within the repair manual are strictly followed before and whilst conducting any work on vehicles with a High voltage system • The closed- circuit voltage of the vehicle must be at least 12.5 V during the update. Connect a suitable battery charger to the vehicle. For further information refer to the Repair manual. • During the update switch off all unnecessary consumers ( ventilation, seat heater, interior illumination etc) • Because of the highest transmission stability you MUST use the diagnosis interface VAS 6154 ( WiFi diagnostic tool) ONLY in USB operation or the cable- connected VAS 5055 for the reprogramming ( updating) of control units. If these units are not available, the diagnosis interface VAS 5054 ( A) can also be used in USB mode • Do Not under any circumstances use a Bluetooth connection to conduct the reprogramming ( updating) of control units 1) Place the ignition key in the remote control key reader and switch on the ignition - Figure 1 Figure 1 2) Select and run Guided fault finding VERY IMPORTANT: Before commencing any further please check the Part number and Software Version of control modules - 008C Hybrid battery management control module and address 06D0 Battery interrupt switch control module In the event the Part numbers and Software Versions are as detailed below the control modules are already at the latest level and no further action is required, please submit a Warranty claim via SAGA for a total of 10 Time units, this will ensure the VIN is removed from the applicability list 008C Hybrid battery management – Latest level Part number: 4M0915233AD Software Version: 0279 or 0281 NOTE: Either Software version is correct if applied 06D0 Battery interrupt switch – Latest level Part number: 4M0915253J Software Version: 0304 NOTE: Should the control modules NOT be at the latest level, please proceed with the remaining instructions • Within the Special functions tab select SVM – Problem related Hardware/Software update then select Perform test (Figure 2) Figure 2 3) On the next screen enter the SVM code 4V08CBJB01 and select Adopt (Figure 3) Figure 3 • On the following screen, confirm the SVM code is correct and select Yes. • All control modules will now be interrogated. • The software update will then be suggested, select Yes. • The software of the Hybrid battery management control module will then be updated, a progress bar will be displayed (Figure 4) Figure 4 4) Referring to Figure 5, once the update is complete, the parameters will then be applied Figure 5 • Follow all remaining on screen prompts until program end 5) IMPORTANT: Switch OFF the ignition • Switch ON the ignition 6) For the second time - Select SVM – Problem related hardware/software update • When prompted enter the SVM code 4V0BJBSW01 and select Adopt (Figure 6) Figure 6 • All control modules will now be interrogated. • The software update will then be suggested, select Yes • The software of the Battery interrupt switch will then be updated, a progress bar will be displayed (Figure 7) Figure 7 IMPORTANT: The following and remaining instructions MUST be strictly followed 7) VERY IMPORTANT: The ignition will be turned OFF and back ON automatically by the diagnostic tester DO NOT turn the ignition OFF or ON manually • Follow all remaining on screen prompts until program end 8) CAN shutdown MUST now be carried out as follows • Switch off the ignition • Remove the diagnostic interface from the OBD port • Switch off and remove the battery charger from the vehicle • Close the bonnet and all doors then lock the vehicle • Wait 5 minutes to allow the vehicle to goes into bus silence • When 5 minutes has elapsed, unlock the vehicle and open the driver’s door • Switch on the ignition • Exit Guided fault finding 9) Place a white completion mark on the right hand bonnet latch striker (Figure 8) Figure 8 Identification White paint completion mark on the right hand bonnet latch striker (Figure 8) Repair instructions Notes
