Clutch - exact cause not yet known
Measure
For K83, K84, produced up to August 2020, no replacement parts will be offered for the clutch (see image "previous build
level").
For vehicles produced since August 2020, a new build level of the clutch is installed (analogous to K80, K81, K82) in the
standard and replacement engines.
In the event of a complaint, where clutch parts must be exchanged, ALWAYS check first which clutch is currently installed
(see "old version" or "new version part number 8565058" in attachment). If the "old version" is installed, the entire clutch
must replaced as a one-off.
For removal, please choose the K83/K84 repair instructions (first build level) or those provided with the vehicle identification
number: "Install/remove or replace clutch". For this you will need special tool 21 4 680.
The new clutch to be installed, part number 8565058, is identical to the clutch in models K80/K81/K82. The new clutch is
installed according to the installation instructions for a K80/K81/K82 or K83/K84 (build level from August 2020) clutch under
"Remove/install or replace clutch". For this you will need special tool 21 4 606.
The complete clutch 8565058 is meanwhile in stock. For the exchange you will also need the two special tools mentioned
above and:

7700396 O-ring for crankshaft oil filler plug
8393581 2 x sealing rings for the clutch cover
The removed "old build level" clutches will be requested for analysis via the research team and must be sent in as quickly as
possible when requested!
For motorcycles under the new vehicle warranty, the exchange of the complete clutch can be invoiced under warranty as a
one-off as a result of the change:
Defect code: 21 21 00 55 Clutch jerking
Flat rate units: 10 FRU for 21 21 000 Remove/install or replace clutch
(or 9 FRU for +21 21 606 Remove/install or replace clutch, if the work is done in conjunction with other works)
