Customer states:
 The yellow engine oil level warning lamp lights up in the instrument cluster even though the engine oil level is
correct (not too low) when measured with the oil dipstick.
Workshop findings:
 The customer concern can be reproduced.
Technical Background
Irregularity in the manufacturing process of the oil dipstick: the oil dipstick is too long.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
Measure the length of the oil dipstick and replace it if necessary:
1.
Pull the oil dipstick out of the dipstick guide tube and wipe off the oil.
2.
Measure the length of the oil dipstick using suitable tools. The oil dipstick must be 533.5 mm long (Figure
1):

A. If the oil dipstick is longer than 533.5 mm, it must be replaced.
B. If the oil dipstick is exactly 533.5 mm long, this TSB does not apply. Use Guided Fault Finding to work
through the issue.
Note:
If the oil dipstick is not out of specification, the costs of repairing the vehicle cannot be invoiced on the basis
of this TSB.
