Expansion of previous safety recall l25.
_____________________________________________________________________ 07/01/2014 New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – L25070114 Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) announced an expansion of previous Safety Recall L25. Safety Recall L25 will now also include 2009 model year (JC) Dodge Journey and 2008 and 2009 model year (RT) Dodge Grand Caravan/Chrysler Town & Country vehicles. The Wireless Ignition Node (WIN) Module on the above vehicles may have unintentional movement of the Frequency Operated Button Ignition Key (FOBIK) from the “ON” to the “Accessory” position while driving. This could cause an unintended engine shut off, passive restraint systems (such as airbags) inoperable, and increase the risk of a crash under certain driving conditions. Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall to interrogate the WIN module using a wiTECH scan tool and certain WIN modules will have a secondary WIN detent system installed. Dealers will be notified of the expansion of this existing safety recall by way of established methods used in the past. We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries on involved vehicles.
