Service Technical Information 60/21 ENU WMD1 9 WMD1 - Performing PCM Software Update (Workshop Campaign) Important: CRITICAL WARNING - This campaign includes steps where control unit(s) in the vehicle will be programmed with the PIWIS Tester. The vehicle voltage must be maintained between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts during this programming. Failure to maintain this voltage could result in damaged control unit(s). Damage caused by inadequate voltage during programming is not a warrantable defect. The technician must verify the actual vehicle voltage in the PIWIS Tester before starting the campaign and also document the actual voltage on the repair order. Model Year: As of 2017 up to 2018 Model Line: 718 Boxster / 718 Cayman (982) 911 (991) Concerns: Porsche Communication Management (PCM) 4.0 Information: Due to a change in the interface for providing the satellite map data for Porsche Communication Management (PCM), the satellite map view will no longer be available in Navigation on the affected vehicles. Action required: Perform PCM software update to restore the satellite map view. Affected Vehicles: Only vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PCSS Vehicle Information). Performing PCM software update Information If the vehicle is affected by the Workshop Campaign WG47 and it has not yet been carried out on the vehicle, this must be performed before the software update WMD1.
