Vehicle Type:
Panamera Turbo (971)/Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid (971)/Panamera GTS (971)
Cayenne Turbo (9YA/9YB)/Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid (9YA/9YB)/Cayenne GTS (9YA/9YB)
Model Year:
As of 2017
Equipment:
8-cylinder gasoline engines
Concerns:
Belt tensioner
Information:
Internal tests have shown that the dust boot on the belt tensioner can be damaged by relieving
the tension on the belt tensioner too much (fully) when removing or installing the drive belt.
For this reason, when removing and installing the drive belt, make sure that you only relieve the tension on
the belt tensioner as much as required to allow you to remove and install the drive belt. There is no need
to relieve the tension on the belt tensioner fully for removing and installing the drive belt.
See also the relevant Workshop Manual  Workshop Manual '137819 Removing and installing drive belt
(V8 biturbo)' to avoid damaging the belt tensioner.
