ACTION Connect/splice together specific wiring in the EGI harness as stated in the SERVICE PROCEDURE. NOTE: DO NOT replace the ECM if this incident should occur. IMPORTANT: The purpose of ACTION (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire SERVICE PROCEDURE (starting on page 2) as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing the repair. Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/8 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Record all audio station presets. Remove the middle clip from the EGI harness where shown in Figure 2. Figure 2 7. Untape the sheathing, and then pull back the sheathing out of the way (see Figure 3). 8. After pulling back the sheathing, untape the wiring (see Figure 3). Sheathing Untaped wiring Figure 3 3/8 NTB15-022a 9. Locate and cut the thicker 16 Gauge/1.25 mm red wire (see Figure 4). Cut this wire further down the harness (see Figure 4). Leave enough length to install a piece of heat shrink tubing. CAUTION: There are four (4) red wires in this section of the EGI harness. One is a thicker gauge (16 Gauge/1.25 mm) than the remaining three (3) wires. Make sure to cut the 16 gauge red wire. 10. Locate and cut the thicker 16 Gauge/1.25 mm violet/purple wire (see Figure 4). Cut this wire about in the middle of the exposed wiring (see Figure 4). CAUTION: There are two (2) violet/purple wires in this section of the EGI harness. One is a thicker gauge (16 Gauge/1.25 mm) than the other violet/purple wire.
