***** Campaign Status Update *****
In December 2005, Nissan launched a Voluntary Service Campaign on certain vehicles
registered in “salt” states to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear sub-frame assembly. If
sub-frame assembly replacement was not necessary, Nissan replaced and sealed the front and
rear bushings.
To ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, Nissan extended the warranty for cracking of
the rear sub-frame due to corrosion to a total of 13 years with unlimited mileage on all model year
2002-2005 Nissan Altima and 2004-2005 Nissan Maxima vehicles. Nissan is now ending the service
campaign since all vehicles nationally are covered by the extended warranty.
Effective September 4, 2015, repairs performed under P5216 and customer reimbursement for out
of pocket expenses for these service campaign repairs are no longer eligible for reimbursement
under the service campaign.
***** What Dealers Should Do****
1. Service Comm has been deactivated for P5216. Dealers must submit any open claims no
later than September 3rd, 2015.
2. Refer to Warranty bulletin WB/05-038 for appropriate claims coding when a repair is
performed under the extended Warranty. No further dealer action is required.
