 DTC P052E00 (valve for crankcase ventilation, malfunction).

Technical Background
Fuel additives can cause the membrane to crack.

Service
1. Using the hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 check the membrane of the crankcase breather for leaks; a leak
can mean a faulty membrane or elbow piece (see TSB 2060259: 17 MIL on or noises from the engine
compartment, DTC P052E00 is stored in the ECM for the elbow piece repair).
2. Remove the compressor/intake manifold and check
the membrane for leaks directly on the crankcase
breather. Remove the crankcase breather and
check the two metal plates for damage (Figure 1).
If a plate is defective, please use the repair kit 06E
103 772H.

3. Replace the membrane of the pressure regulating
valve (Figures 2-3) (Included in the repair kit 06E
103 772H).
