Condition
Some customers may comment on a clunk, pop, rattle, or knock type noise that
can be heard or felt in the steering column. This concern may be more noticeable
when turning at low speeds on rough road surfaces.
Cause
This concern could be caused by the steering column upper Intermediate shaft.
Correction:
To correct this concern, replace the steering column upper Intermediate shaft with part number 84488136.
Currently, this part number is still the old part number and a new part number will be released soon. To ensure
you are getting the new updated Intermediate shaft, make sure it has one of the paint marks shown below. If the
new intermediate shaft does not have one of the paint marks shown below, then it is not the updated version.
