Information Only - OEM Related Matter Not Covered By Cummins® - Contact Appropriate OEM Dealer or OEM Representative For Additional Information Contents Product Affected B6.7 CM2350 B121B B6.7 CM2450 B155B L9 CM2350 L119B L9 CM2450 L126B Issue Symptom: Intermittent datalink fault codes for aftertreatment, turbocharger, or certain chassis systems in Freightliner® chassis equipped with an Allison® transmission. https://quickserve.cummins.com/qs3/pubsys2/xml/en/tsb/2021/tsb210106.html 1/3 6/1/2021 Datalink Fault Codes Caused by Wiring Harness Chaffing In Freightliner® Chassis Fault code examples are: 427, 1894, 2636, 2771, 3232, 3326, 3328, 3488, 3526, 3868, 4151, 4152, 4572, 4677, 5177, and/or 6688 Unit can also exhibit shift quality issues and gear limitation, Unit can exhibit dash dropout issues with speedometer, tachometer or diesel exhaust fluid gauge. Fuel level and air pressure will not be affected. Completion of troubleshooting tree for associated fault code may not find a root cause of malfunction. Root Cause: The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) wiring harness routing near the transmission can rub on the lifting pads for the transmission causing the malfunction and associated datalink faults. There are two locations that can rub. The harness along driver side of transmission, and DEF wiring harness along passenger side of transmission Verification Verify unit is Freightliner® chassis with an Allison® Transmission. Verify build date of truck. Only units built prior to 30 November 2020 have this issue. Verify the unit has fault codes listed above. Verify the unit exhibits shift quality issues and gear limitation. Inspect the OEM wiring harness near the transmission lifting pads/brackets and around any sharp edges for signs of chaffing or rubbing to the wiring harness. Resolution If chaffing or damage to the wiring harness is found reference Freightliner® Service Bulletin 54-328.
