Customer Concern:
The customer reports abnormal driving behavior. This may include one or more of the following: (1) a
lack of expected engine power, (2) erratic gear shifting, and (3) cruise control that intermittently disengages without apparent cause.
In some cases, the customer may also report that the brake lights unexpectedly activate (i.e. the
brakes are not in use, but the brake lights are on).
Technical Concern:
When interrogating the vehicle with the PIWIS Tester, the technician will find fault code P0571 (Brake
light switch - implausible signal) in the DME.
Service Information: PCNA is aware of this issue. A fix is available as a DME software update as of March 29 in PTG2
PIWIS version 17.000.010 and higher.
Please be sure to enter the customer statement in the PQIS line and upload a VAL.
In PQIS, please code the “cause” as follows:
