Service Technical Information 5/16 ENU WG03 5 WG03 - Applying Corrosion Protection to Longitudinal Member for Front Left Wheel Housing (Workshop Campaign) Vehicle Type: Macan Model Year: 2016 Subject: Longitudinal member for front left wheel housing Issue: There is a possibility that the cavity on the longitudinal member for the front left wheel housing was not protected sufficiently against corrosion on the affected vehicles. As a result, the longitudinal member for the front left wheel housing can become corroded over the service life of the vehicle. Remedial action: Rework longitudinal member for front left wheel housing by applying corrosion protection wax. Affected Vehicles: Only the vehicles assigned to the campaign (see also PIWIS Vehicle information). Parts Info.: NOTE: PARTS WILL NOT BE AUTOMATICALLY ALLOCATED TO YOUR DEALERSHIP. AfterSales Mar 30, 2016 Page 1 of 3 5 Service WG03 Procedure: ENU 1 Technical Information 5/16 Remove front left trim panel. 1.1 Open front lid. 1.2 Pull expanding clips Removing trim panel -1- out of the rear section of the trim panel Removing trim panel -2-. 1.3 Guide rear section out of the tabs and remove it Removing trim panel -inset-. 1.4 Carefully detach foam pad Removing trim panel -3- from the body Removing trim panel -arrows-. Removing trim panel 2 Apply corrosion protection to longitudinal member for front left wheel housing. 2.1 Shake spray can containing corrosion protection wax vigorously before use. 2.2 Guide spray pipe of the spray can in through the opening on the longitudinal member for the wheel housing upper section Applying corrosion protection -arrow- as far as possible towards the A-pillar. 2.3 Actuate spray can 4 times for at least 2 seconds. Service Technical Information 3 4 5/16 WG03 ENU 5 Install front left trim panel. 3.1 Guide rear section of the trim panel Installing trim panel -2- into the tabs on the front section and align it. 3.2 Press in and lock expanding clips Installing trim panel -1-. 3.3 Position foam pad Installing trim panel -3- on the body and press the bonding surface onto the body Installing trim panel -arrows-. 3.4 Close front lid. Enter the campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
